A Simply Perfect Baby Shower!

I LOVE weddings and sweet 16's.  The joy that I feel from being involved in the planning process is hard to describe.  From anniveraries to corporate events....at Simply Perfect Peace Events we are more than wedding planners.  We love all events and baby showers happen to be one of our favorites.  Below is a green and pink one we had the honor of working on.

These invitation by Designs by Shay were completely inspired by the mom to be.  The overlay was embossed with a cute saying which embodied her personality.

In addition to cupcakes by Sharon's Custom Cakes the table was adorned with cake pops from Aja Kearney.

The candy buffet was filled with all her favorite candy in her color scheme.  Green and Pink striped straws were the perfect fit for the pink lemonaide served on this warm summer day.

The client enjoys her yard and loves things that are pretty and simple.  So we decided that Green and Pink pots with baby breaths were appropriate.

WELCOME ELISE!!!!! YOUR SHOWER WAS SO MUCH FUN :)

Wedding Motivational Monday: Love is Patient, Love is Kind

Wedding ceremonies often use the Bible verse "Love is patient, love is kind" from I Corinthians 13:4.  However, the verse doesn't stop there and it goes on to say that same love does not envy, boast, nor is it proud.

As we discuss marriage and continue to motivate and encourage, today I would like you to think about this. "A happy, contented marriage is one where BOTH partners are constanly looking for ways to build up the other.  It is a conscious priority that is always at the forefront".

Marriage encouragement comes through patience and kindness.  Accepting your spouse as they are and promoting them in positive ways is an important factor for effectively fulfilling the role of husband and wife.  NOTE:  Building up your spouse, builds up  your marriage and your family.

There is no room for pride in a marriage.  Be aware of when encouragement is needed and more importantly, how to administer it effectively.

Wedding Traditions: Old! New! Borrowed! Blue!

Have you ever wondered why the bride stands to the left of the groom, or why she tosses her bouquet? Wedding traditions are often traced back to their roots and can have multiple explanations.  Today, let's take a look at one that dates back to the Victorian era and still stands with current brides.

"Something old" represents the bride's link to her family and the past. The symbol of continuity, the bride may choose to wear a piece of family jewelry, a hankerchief or her mother or grandmother's wedding gown.

"Something new" represents hope for good fortune and success in the future. The bride often chooses the wedding gown to represent the new item. Wearing a new item symbolizes that you and your husband are creating a new union that will endure forever.

"Something borrowed" usually comes from a happily married woman and is thought to lend some of her good fortune and joy to the new bride. Remember it's borrowed so it must be returned afterwards and this can also be a piece of jewelry.

"Something blue" is a symbol of love, fidelity, and purity of the bride. Often the garter but you can also wear blue shoes if you're bold enough.

As I always say, enjoy the process!  Brides have been honoring this tradition for centures and it can also be an opportunity to show admiration for some really special people in your life on this your special day.

Wedding Motivational Monday: What a girl wants; what a man needs!

Intimacy and companionship!  YES, in that order is what Men need and just the reverse for what a Woman wants.  As women, we want to be with someone that wants to be with us and makes us feel safe and secure.  He shares our goals and dreams, pretends to listen to us talk and certainly makes us (keke)laugh at any moment of the day.  Given all of the above- intimacy is sure to be part of the equation.

Rasheeda & Troy Bibbs
For men, the most important thing for them following intimacy is companionship.  Recently, one of my Facebook friends posted that she was watching paint dry (literally) with her husband.  This was something I'm sure was boring for her, however, because he wanted to watch it dry...... so be it!

We all live busy lives and can easily get too caught up in that to where intimacy in our marriage gets pushed to the back burner.  Special occasions shouldn't be the only time you take time to fully enjoy your partner.   Everyone needs to feel loved and appreciated and when it comes to having a strong marriage, being under-valued can really hurt your self esteem and destroy your marriage.

"A work in progress with a lifetime contract"

Take a look over the last week of your marriage; how often are you intimate with your spouse?  When was the last time you simply said something nice?
"Marriage isn't supposed to make you happy & satisfied. It's your job to make your marriage happy & satisfying. Same goes for sex. It isn't supposed to make  you passionate and "hot". It's up to you to make it passionate, "hot" &  intimate. Our wedding was many years ago, but the celebration continues to this day!" -Rasheeda Bibbs

Wedding Motivational Monday: Be Your Own Motivation!

Has your marriage or relationship hit rock bottom? If so, the good news is at this point all you can do is think UP, not down.  Wallowing in self pity is self destructive and will destroy your relationships because you probably aren't communicating effectively.

If I have said it once, I've said it a thousand times... "study to be quiet and work with your own hands"!  Sounds easy right? About as easy as knowing that a wise woman builds her house and a foolish one tears it down.... (think about it).

Now isn't the time to be foolish.  It's easier to stay motivated when you remove all the roadblocks that are blocking the path to happiness.  Let's be candid here... if you find yourself swaying toward another persons grass instead of your spouse, cut off communication and focus more on your own lawn.

Use your failures as motivation to start working towards improving and a means of climbing up the hill. If we don't motivate, we fail... that's it, that's all!  The difference between people that fail and those that fail and SUCCEED is the desire to stay motivated and pick yourself up.

Be CONFIDENT in yourself and your spouse knowing that you're in it together.  In having confidence it's vital to have a true desire to change.  This isn't the time to fake the funk.  Know that everyone struggles; allow yourself time to cope and then make an action plan to get through them as a TEAM. Not a team of 5 either... just 2.  (just the two of us, we can make it if we try. Just the two of us....)

Disclaimer:  I'm no counselor or therapist.. just living life, learning and sharing.

Fun Friday Finds: Pin This!

Probably the second most important style decision a bride will make. Play up contrasts. Neutral color paired with the right shade of flowers can create a unified look that really pops. This Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach bride chose grey chiffon dresses from J.Crew, which beautifully compliment bouquets of light pink roses.

Sashes are a great way to add some colour. If your flower girls are wearing white, like these Maui darlings, add a sash or other accents—like floral headbands—that match your bridesmaids’ dresses

Don't forget to enter the PIN  YOUR DREAM WEDDING CONTEST!

~Enjoy the process! (photos courtesy of Four Seasons)
