Vera Wang goes RED!!

After last season's all-black collection, Vera Wang is doing monochrome again — but this time, it's all about the red. Or, as the collection's title, "Mei Meng" — Chinese for "beautiful dreams" — suggests, perhaps it's all about the Chinese market. The brand plans on entering Asia this year, and bridal is the first push.

Your Halloween Themed Wedding...

Think back to when you were a kid; wasn't it fun to get dressed up and go door to door and yell TRICK OR TREAT!!  By now all of the trick or treaters have tossed their candy bags on your living room floor to be inspected and are headed to bed; unless of course he's 49 years old.  These days just as many adults have a good time trick or treating as the kids.  My husband asked me today, "where is all the candy?"  Umm, hello gone, I yelped.. LOL  He's been looking forward to trick or treat candy for weeks.. Oh well funky smell..hahah

There’s no doubt creating a Halloween themed wedding can be a lot of fun – especially to those with a mischievous spirit.

How many have thought about having their wedding around this day?  How would you incorporate the colors without celebrating "Halloween?" Here are a few suggestions:
  • Have your reception in a mansion or historical venue to take advantage of  the ‘haunted feeling.  Lighting can go a long way to create a spooky effect without being ridiculous.
  •  Choose a bridal gown with black accents; belt, beads, headpiece, etc for a Gothic look. OR go with the something from the new black line of Vera Wang.

  •  Dont forget your bridesmaids.  Their gowns in deep fuschia or purple with black accessories will be a nice compliment to your bridal gown.
  • Now for the groom.  Staying with the same theme, this would be the perfect time for the groom to wear tails.   If not, then classic black is good.

  • Dramatic centerpieces, maybe tall twigs that have crooked branches wrapped in lighting.

When considering something this dramatic; please don't cheapen the wedding by having loads of candy corn, spidery ghosts, trick drinking glasses or fake blood of any kind for any reason. Other than that, have fun  - it's still your day!

    Is Black the new White?

Vera Wang has designed some amazing wedding gowns over the years.  The celebrity dress designer, who has created gowns in dove grey and mint in the past, took it a step further this year showing that a black wedding dress may no longer be taboo.

What's your opinion? Has she gone too far this time?  Would you wear black to your wedding?
