40th Birthday for Nikeva Lawrence

Simply Perfect Peace Events was honored to plan and manage the Champagne and Chocolate's 40th Birthday Soirée for Nikeva Lawrence which was nothing short of amazing!  The honoree was stunning in her gown by Curvaceous Couture (Columbus, MD), Hair by Ebony Roberts and flawless makeup by Sheree Day Stroud, founder of Fog Cosmetics.

Theme, budget, a few must haves and GO was all she gave us to work with.  Although we hit a bump late in the planning process with our first venue selection the Main Street Diner at the Sapphire Room proved to be the perfect setting for this diva and her guests. A big shout out to my Partner who took time away from her new baby to do what we do and our team for making it memorable for all. Palette Pleasers Catering supplied the delicious cuisine, my business partners Sherhonda Atkins-Martin and Ronnie Martin from Candy Personified and the fabulous sweet table left the guests wanting more. Designs by Shay created a sexy elegant atmosphere with beautiful floral arrangements and the overall design elements. I certainly can't forget my sound and lighting team, saxophonist Rico Maatre and DJ Memphz who set the tone early and had the party rocking all night long. Last but not least, photographer, Marcus L Sanders for capturing the pure essence of this event. I'm looking forward  to the professional photos but in the meantime enjoy these taken with cell phones by myself and guests.

Fun Friday Find : Strawberry Margarita Cake Bites

I get a real kick out of trying new things.  While surfing the net during the midnight hours I found this really cool margarita cake bite recipe from Noble Pig. 

Using basic white cake mix, strawberry daiquiri mixer, tequila, strawberries, whipped cream and a biscuit cutter; this would make a nice treat for the family, a bridal/bachelorette party or any event. 

Oh, and if you don't want to be wasteful, take the unused edges of the cake and cut into squares and make mini trifles that include whipped cream and strawberries too. Try it and let me know how it turns out.

Raquel R Sanchez, owner of YUMMY!™, the most titillating baking catering company in NYC! If you can dream it, they can make it. However, they do have a menu of the most popular flavors, using the freshest ingredients, real butter, real eggs, real milk, real vanilla, real everything!  With over 15 cake flavors and the frostings being endless a tasting just might be in order? 

Private tastings are by appointment only and reserved for weddings and occasions over 100 guests. Call or email for more information. Otherwise, to sample their delicious cakes, try ordering an "Oohlala Sampler,” available every Saturday. The “Flavor Sampler” includes 3 mini cakes (4 servings each) of any 3 flavors, and they'll deliver it straight to your door. $35 in NYC, $50 in NJ. All cakes are buttercream only with a little sugar flower on top. No custom decorations or messages are included.

Delivery available anywhere in the tri-state area (NYC/NJ/CT). Delivery in NYC is a $25 fee. Outside of NYC is an additional $1/mile.  They also ship overnight to any location in North America. Items are sent frozen with a batch of your preferred frosting!

A 50% deposit is required to place an order. The remaining balance must be paid upon delivery or pickup, except for wedding cakes, which require the balance to be paid in full a week prior to the event date.
